KITTI'S BIRD WATCHING TOURS
Discover the Avian Wonders of the Bristol Channel!
Join us for an exciting 4-hour boat trip, where nature enthusiasts can witness the incredible seabird life that thrives in the Bristol Channel.
Running from April to late July, this is the ideal time to observe a variety of spectacular seabirds in their natural habitat. Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic Guillemots, striking Razorbills, graceful Gannets, fluffy Fulmars, agile Shags and the charming Kittiwakes as they nest and nurture their young.
Our experienced crew will be on hand to share their knowledge of these fascinating birds, helping you spot and identify each species while providing insights into their behaviour and habitats!
The birds of our coastline:
Guillemots: These sleek, dark-colored seabirds are known for their impressive diving skills. They often nest on cliff ledges and are a common sight during the breeding season
Razorbills: Similar in appearance to guillemots but with a distinctive white stripe on their face and a thicker bill. Razorbills are also excellent divers and can often be seen in the water near their nesting sites
Gannets: These large, striking birds are known for their spectacular plunge-diving technique to catch fish. They have a white body with black wing tips and a distinctive yellow head, making them easily recognizable
Fulmars: A member of the albatross family, fulmars have a grey and white plumage and are often seen gliding effortlessly over the water. They nest on cliffs and are known for their strong pair bonds
Shags: These dark greenish-black seabirds are often seen diving for fish. Shags have a long neck and a distinctive crest, and they typically nest in colonies on cliffs and rocky shores
Kittiwakes: With their distinctive calls that sound like their name, kittiwakes are small gulls that nest on cliffs. They have a white body with grey wings and are often seen flying in groups over the water
